softonic review of AnVir Task Manager
The task manager that comes bundled with Windows by default should be enough for most people but others, mainly power users, will definitely prefer something like Anvir Task Manager.
This highly detailed task management tool analyzes everything that's currently active on your system and displays it on a tabbed interface: running applications, active processes and services, programs that are scheduled to run upon Windows start, percentage of CPU and RAM in use, and more. I especially liked the two icons the programs puts on the system tray that enable you to control RAM usage and CPU load at a glance. Anvir Task Manager is certainly much more than just a management tool for active processes: it's a complete app that lets you control everything that's going on while you're using the computer. A must-have for power users!
lifehacker.com review of AnVir Task ManagerAnVir Task Manager Free is a Windows Task Manager replacement boasting an enormous feature set. This utility can manage startup applications, running applications, processes, services, and oh-so-much more. When you select a running process in the top pane, the bottom pane provides a wealth of information about the process, from a brief description of what it does to the network connections it's making and DLLs it's using. One of my favorite unusual features is the Check with AntiViruses on VirusTotal right-click option—which streamlines my favorite method of determining if a file really has a virus. You can find tons of Task Manager replacements out in the wild, but AnVir still manages to stand out. If you want even more functionality, this free download is also available in a Pro version with a kitchen sink full of features. DownloadSquad review of AnVir Task ManagerAnVir Task Manager really surprised me. It's got an insane number of useful features. Apart from performing the usual process monitoring chores, AnVir also packs integrated startup control (a la MSconfig) and service manager. Click any process, and AnVir's bottom pane will display everything from an application's creator and signing authority to how many active internet connections it has. It'll also display a full list of DLLs and other files in use by the selected app. Connection tab provides detailed port monitoring, giving you a quick look at which of your processes are accessing the 'net. It also monitors your system's workload, dropping icons in the system tray that indicate CPU usage (including a breakdown by application) and hard drive temperature, free space, and activity levels (again with per-application info). Soft32 review of AnVir Task ManagerAnVir Task Manager Pro AnVir Task Manager Pro is a very useful system utility. Although it may seem to be another frontend for Windows Task Manager, it is actually an advanced task manager combined with a startup manager and an antivirus. The complexity of this application resides in the fact that it provides detailed information about startup items, running applications and processes. Besides providing all that useful informations, the program also provides the appropriate tools to help you manage all the items. The items found in the startup section (applications which start with Windows) can be started, stopped and edited using the registry editor. Using the context menu, you can also open the directory containing that item, edit its properties or search for related results using 'Google search' (will open a new Internet Explorer window). An interesting option is that of delaying a startup item: this means that it will be started one minute after Windows has been loaded. Running applications can be forcefully shut down, brought to front and so on. Here, you have also the option to find an application's process, in order to make sure what it does. Processes can be managed as well from viewing their properties to setting their priority. The program will place two icons in the taskbar that will show your disk usage and CPU usage. You can create custom list of startup exclusions, blocked processes or processes with modified priority. In conclusion: I think this is an application which can help you keep a clear track of all installed and running processes and application, helping you to keep your system clean and running smoothly.
Customers Feedback
Excellent work. Accidently got the Klez virus. I located it in my startup but was unable to remove it or delete the dos file even in dos mode (winknow.exe and winkyo.exe). AnVir Security Suite killed it in five seconds. My computer was staggering under the weight of so much adware, trojans, and so on. AnVir Task Manager brought it back to life! I now run it weekly and things run much smoother. It's great! AnVir Task Manager helped gave me a better idea of what is slowing down my PC. I would recommend this program to those who find there comptuer is slowing down (even though it is not because of malicous software or low system hardware) and are not sure what is causing it to slow down. AnVir Security Suite truly shows everything runing on the PC. Including Drivers. I've been using this for three years now couldn't imagine being without it. This little piece of code really showed me whats going on and helped speed things up. Microsoft really should included something like this AnVir Task Manager Pro with their OS. It's very Cool and helpful. Easy to use, show details in description of programs. Very informative about most of the files on my system and what to do about them. Love the presented page format. I am very impressed. It’s rare these days for a new tool to land in my box but this one is going in to replace several apps. I've had so many problems with my computer to the point of getting a new one... I thought my computer was simply obsolete and that it couldn't handle the "newer stuff". I downloaded this AnVir Task Manager and it is unbelievable how well and FAST my computer is. I used to get error messages, freeze ups, couldn't shut down properly, the general goes on. This virus destroyer killed everything affecting this machine. I love the fact that I can change the start-up, it allows me to run the least amount of programs when i start up. This alone speeds things up. It continues to get the well known kleiz virus that is from e-mails. I will definitely buy it. Very simple to use as well. I'm still amazed how fast everything is now. For the first time in my life I understand what is actually running on my computer, when, why and how, I finally have a way to deal with everything. With AnVir Task Manager I've reduced the bootup time to a limit I've never thought it is possible, and finally I have an amazingly working computer, fast, smooth and reliable.
This has been a valuable enhancement to my system. I run it almost constantly in the background. It's the best startup manager that I have found, gives me the instant control that I need at the process and service level, and offers a set of useful system performance monitors. |
